What a time to be alive! Here’s our take on where we are at with regards to the US electionâŚ
Firstly an over view of upsets
1) 1948 – Dewey vs Truman
People cracked champagne & danced in the streets only for Truman to later plaster egg over the faces of everyone niave enough to make that call with 100% certainty. Famously Truman held up a copy of the Chicago Daily Tribune showing Deweys faux win when he officially won.
2) 2000 Gore vs Bush Jnr
People cracked champagne & danced in the streets only for Bush to plaster egg over the faces of everyone niave enough to make that call with 100% certainty. That took 36 days of intense litigation only to dash the hopes of Gore.
3) 2016 Clinton vs Trump
People cracked champagne & danced in the streets only for Trump to later plaster egg over the faces of everyone niave enough to make that call with 100% certainty. Its typical for media outlets to prepare a certain amount of material for either outcome but this time magazines were not just printed but actually distributed to shops. They later had to be recalled & refunds issued.
4) 2020 Trump vs Biden
The fact Biden is even in the race, is absurd in itself, what a sad state of affairs for politics, but here we are! To be fair the 2016 election catch cry was “anyone but Hillary “from some corners & from the opposite corners in 2020 it appears to be the exact same, “anyone but Trump”.
What I can tell you with 100% certainty is if you are cocky enough to make a call either way then you are very niave! đ
Is this a case of history repeating? Time will tell! Jan 2021, here we come!
As odd as it may seem, were you aware Nancy Pelosi has a chance to secure the Presidency??
