Imagine if governments had performance reviews for each 12 month period, with a big one before the election. Which was publicly shared and only needed to focus on the reality of the top 5 policies they campaigned on the previous election. It would be simple. To have an open system of accountability. The only valid reason I can see for governments to not want to be open and honest about realities, both for achievements and failures is that they have something to hide.
This in business is fraud, evasion and ultimately tends to end up in business failure, bankruptcy etc. The fact that our government officials who are supposedly public servants can act with such impunity makes an absolute mockery of our so called democratic system.
