Dr Fauci rolls with the punches when it comes to honesty whilst informing the public about Covid-19.
“When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent,” he told reporter Donald McNeil. “Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.”
This is not the first time he has misled the public. An admission in June and repeated in September on ABC. Fauci explained that he changed his tune from saying facemasks are no use to then saying citizens should wear facemasks because he didn’t want stocks of PPE to get hoarded.
Research has shown the use of masks to be of virtually zero effect but this hasn’t stopped the global community being told to wear them which casts doubt on which side of the fence Fauci sits on mask use..
This reminds me of a quote I read when the virus was first breaking. “The only means to fight the plague is honesty.” (Albert Camus, 1947)
