Gain-of-function i.e. super virus

Was the U.S. funding the development of highly contagious Covid virus’ to study the effects of pandemics?

Out of the chapters of a supervillain book where a secret laboratory experiment goes wrong and creates a super hero, or villain. We have confirmation that the NIH was funding experiments on Corona virus’ in Wuhan.

Gain-of-function experiments, as defined by the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Arizona, involve “studies that enhance the pathogenicity, transmissibility, or host range of a pathogen” in order to assess the possible threat it poses to human beings, including its potential to become a pandemic virus.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) was funding experiments in China in 2019 that sought to assess the risk of dangerous coronaviruses jumping from bat populations into human beings — research conducted in a laboratory near the site of — and possibly around the time of — the initial outbreak of the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic in that country, records show.

The NIH funded an organisation called Ecohealth, which in turn directed funds to the Wuhan laboratory.

Government documentation from 2018 claimed the Wuhan facility possessed a “shortage of trained staff.”

So we have a laboratory studying the effects of Corona virus with a shortage of trained staff and potentially modifying the virus to be more contagious.

The last project, listed on documentation from the NIH, to occur at Wuhan before The grant ceased was the risk to humans of bat viruses and in particular SARS inducing viruses.

That project, titled “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence,” sought to explore “the origin, diversity, capacity to cause illness, and risk of spillover” in bat-based coronaviruses.

“Spillover” is the phenomenon of a virus being transferred from one species to another.

The NIH denies that any Gain of function experiments were occurring with its funding of the Wuhan laboratory.

So did the virus come from the wet market where a virus spillover occurred from a bat to a human, or from a lab studying this exact phenomenon which had a lack of trained personnel🤔
