Notice the areas that government regulates and funds the most, become the most expensive. If you make education or healthcare “free” the demand goes up because users can’t see a direct price to put them off. Therefore the real price increases yet is hidden in taxation. Where government is least involved, eg TV’s, smartphones and computers that are bought privately from a range of companies competing for market share and profit, the price to individuals is reduced. Despite massive profits by software companies, the prices have only dropped- debunking the Marxist myth that profit occurs at a cost to working class people. With such clear trends in every nation across time, why would leftists in particular seek to involve the government more in our lives? Their role is to be a referee, not to provide food, housing or clothing. They are inefficient, which means uneconomic and deliver poor value to people- if they were good value taxation wouldn’t have to be forced! All goods and services should be completely privatised, politicians don’t build roads or schools anyway, all they do is act as middle men, corrupt the process and pay themselves and friends a handsome cut!
