Same in NZ by April the min wage will be $20, just to finish off the small businesses that have survived, aid mega corporations and pave the way for UBI dependency.
It’s not the amount of dollars that matter but the purchasing power of each dollar. General inflation and cost of living increases are not the fault of any individual business owner but rather politicians and bankers- but they convince the small minded people that it’s the greed of capitalists not paying workers enough which is the cause of their hardships.
Wages are driven up by competition for labour, the only way to get more demand for labour is to encourage more business growth by lowering taxes and barriers to starting a business and hiring people. Less business and more unemployment puts downward pressure on wages which is bad for all involved.
