National say new history curriculum features too much ‘identity politics’ and needs more balance

Simon O’connor: This is not education. It is indoctrination. Plain and simple. The proposed new history curriculum is a shocker, including one of the three aims to stress that “history has been shaped by the exercise and effects of power.” Marx and Lenin would be delighted and this ‘aim’ alone highlights that this has little to do with history and much more to do with a particular view of politics.
