And the massive elephant in Siouxie’s room is of course Peru, which has massive similarities with Brazil (particularly the state of Amazonas where the city of Manaus is situated), and implemented the earliest, longest and arguably the toughest lockdowns compared to any other country – and still had some of the worst results (much worse than Brazil!).
Clearly, lockdowns are not the key to success many claim they must beā¦
